Matt Petroni '24 Recruiting Profile

From a young age, sports have always been an integral and important part of my life. I have always been one of the most athletic, hard-working, and competitive players on the team, regardless of what sport, and speed and agility have always been an asset. It has always been important to me to be a team player, as well as a team leader. I mentor and try to motivate the younger players on the team, and work hard with the coaches to be flexible, coachable, and study the game. This ethic also transfers in the classroom. I have a respectable GPA, study hard, and know the value of getting a good education. I have always wanted to play college football, but know that it must only happen with the ability to also achieve my academic goals and graduate with a college degree. 

I play football for a small town, free-lance team where we were undefeated in our regular season my sophomore and junior year. I have been fortunate to be a team captain offensive player of the year, thanks to the support of my teammates and coaches. I also excel in basketball being on the All-League team for 3 years and offensive player of the year. I have built a bond with my teammates that will definitely continue even after I graduate. I am looking forward to building the same type of comradery when I play football in college. I will bring the same dedication, determination, and loyalty to the field and to my academic success. I look forward to playing at the next level and am confident that I will be a strong addition to any team.
