Dear Prospective Coach,
My name is Eddie Parenti, my story of how I got to start playing football is definitely unique and interesting. It started off my sophomore year, after completing my first two varsity seasons of soccer at my high school. I started varsity soccer both my freshman and sophomore year. At the end of that season I decided I wanted to do something different since I was playing soccer all year round for a premier team. I took out to the field and tried kicking a football and it came very easy to me since I was used to kicking. I immediately joined the football team that winter and hit the weight room with the team. As my junior year approached I clinched the spot of the starting punter, and only the punter because there was another kid above me doing the place kicking which I was fine with. Next my senior season. I officially got the job as the kicker and punter and went to practice right away since I had big shoes to fill. As my senior season is going on I'm loving the sport and what I do in games and during practice. I noticed that high school is coming to an end but I don't want football too. I am very passionate about what i do and always do things 110% until I get it perfect. As my senior season ends I went 52 for 57 on PAT's ranking 4th in the state and 2 for 2 on field goals. And trust me, those 5 PAT's that missed never left my mind, I remember what games they were.
Off the football field I had a very busy schedule. Every day I would go to school concentrate on my work, go to practice, then to work ,and then home to do my homework. I have a great work ethic and I work hard at what I do whether its school or football or at my job. I'm used to being busy but I never let it get to my head, whatever I have to get done it will. Also in school I have done volunteer work. I have in the past served thanksgiving dinner to the senior citizens of my town at the senior center and volunteered at the Special Olympic Games in my town which as lot of fun! I am currently involved with the unified sports program at my high school and I enjoy doing this with the special needs kids.
All in all I would love to play college football because of how much it means to me and how much I enjoy playing. I feel that I would be a good addition to a team because I have fun at what I do but also know when to concentrate at the same time. I know that I can handle the busy schedule that comes with being a college athlete because I am used to it now. When it comes down to it if I'm not practicing to get better at football I am studying or at the gym trying to get better.
