Personal Statement
I have been playing football since the age of 5. I have learned that this sport requires discipline, patience and great work ethic. I feel I have a great football IQ and can read the plays well.
Despite the demands that football programs have on individuals, I have maintained a high grade point average for the past four years. I was recognized as the Scholar Athlete of the Year with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. This level of academic performance will ensure that I am ready for the classroom and the field at the college level. I am enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Enrollment (DE) classes. Maintaining a balance has become extremely important as this is a little more challenging.
An accident in a football game during my 8th grade year left me with a fractured ankle. This injury was somewhat devastating at the time as it put out the remainder of the season. I was broken. I quickly learned that my attitude played a major role in my recovery and I was determined to come back stronger than before. I was named Defensive player of the year, the next three years.
I learned patience and humility. I am a part of an awesome football family, not just a program. Our teamwork and commitment makes it easy for all to be leaders. I know I possess the skills to be a leader on your team!
