Personal Statement
I am Daniel Bivins, a transfer student/outside linebacker from Concordia College (HBCU) in Selma, Alabama majoring in Health and Health & Physical Education. I am currently enrolled at the University of West Georgia but is not on the football team. I sat out a year to comply with NCAA rules, so now I will be eligible and ready to play football in the Fall of 2013. I feel that I would be a key football player on your team as well as an asset on the team. I am also able to play defensive end, has played full back and is faster enough to play safety. Your school will help to fulfill my dreams of playing college football and furthering my education. I like your football program and other accolades. I transferred from Concordia because the major that I am interested in was not available. I am 225 lbs, 6'2", fast, aggressive, and alert on the field. I play my position with seriousness and dedication. I have had training since my YMCA football days, where my father was my first coach. He trained me well, along with more training from summer camps, and all of my football coaches. I believe in myself and have confidence that I can make a difference on your team if I am given the opportunity to play. My family is not financially able to send me to college. My father is a disabled Army veteran. I am a self starter, self disciplined, a team player, follow instructions well from my superiors, a hard dedicated worker on and off the field, whether it is working out in the weight room, running laps, or in the classroom. I was the only player that started on the team when I was in middle school, as an eight grader with the Jr. Varsity team. I was captain in high school, helped the players learn plays, member of the Fellowship of Christian Athlete, volunteer for community Keep America Beautiful, Outreach program volunteer for at risk youth in the community, youth president in my church, an usher, in choir, Cub Scouts, and B student. My total SAT score was 1070. (Reading 350, Math 410, Writing 310) My childhood dream was to play college and pro football. I feel that I can fulfill my dreams if I work hard and given the opportunity. I do believe in myself and I will continue to work hard on and off the field. I am from Georgia and would prefer to attend college in the southern states, but I am opened for other colleges in other states if the opportunity presents itself. If given the opportunity, I am willing to work hard and do what I need to do to help the team.Thank you for taking the time to view my profile and videos and I appreciate your positive consideration and feedback .
