Kaleb Layton '20 Recruiting Profile

I have always loved the game of football, but growing up in a small town I spent a lot of time on the bench during youth leagues because I didn’t have the right last name. I could have given up when people told me I would never get to play because I wasn’t good enough, but instead I decided to push forward and give it everything I had until I was noticed.  As I started to mature physically and my skills developed I earned a varsity spot as a freshman, but I didn’t let it go to my head. It just made my desire to succeed even stronger. I will put in the work and be flexible to meet the needs of my team. My drive doesn’t stop on the field. I highly value my academic experience as well and want to do whatever it takes to succeed. There isn’t a challenge I’m not ready to face head on! My coaches refer to me often as “very coachable” and a “team player”.
