Personal Statement

All my life I have had a dream about being a student athlete at the college level. I started playing tackle football at the age of seven and have been in love with the game ever since. I understand playing at the next level is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am ready to take advantage of that opportunity.

I show leadership on and off the field. During my freshman and sophomore football seasons at Lincoln Way West, I was chosen to be a captain and look to continue that into my junior year. Due to my constant film study, I believe I am able to read what offenses are trying to do. As a middle linebacker I am also able to communicate with our defense to put us in the best position. I love to come up and stop the run and in passing situations I equally love rushing the passer and enjoy dropping back into coverage.

I am a two sport athlete so I am constantly active and constantly working to improve on my athletic ability. Baseball is my second sport but during the season I am consistently in the weight room working on strength training. During baseball season I attend football practices and morning lifts.

In the classroom I work hard to maintain a high GPA. I have made the Honor Roll in both freshman and sophomore years. In regards to rigor, I have already taken two AP courses, Human Geography and United States History. I have done a significant amount of community service in my first two years of High School and will continue to help moving forward.

I would love to write the next chapter of my life as a student athlete at the collegiate level. I look forward to attending a four year institution where I will get a quality education and compete at a high level on the playing field. I will bring hard work, leadership, and loyalty to any college willing to give me an opportunity.
