Carter Mackey '25 Recruiting Profile

My dream has always been to not only play sports at the collegiate level but to excel at them. I have what it takes to be successful at the collegiate level from academics to athletics, and most importantly my characteristics. 

I am the hardest worker on the field as well as off and my coaches, teammates, and parents can all back that. I excel at putting in the work behind the scenes to make game day that much better. I take pride in my ability to be a student of the game by reading offenses, learning new defenses, and understanding the game of football in it of itself. 

One of the best traits an athlete can have is being a leader and not a follower. It doesn't take much to be a follower and put yourself before others, but when you put something bigger than yourself first, like a team and their best interests, that is hard. I am driven to accomplish the natural leader role on a team and to have my teammates' backs more than anything.

My positive attitude reflects strong leadership. My coachability is one of my strongest assets in helping increase my production on the field and make me an even better player. I play football for Blaine which is a 6A school and one of the largest teams in the state of Minnesota. I was recently voted by my teammates as one of the 2 captains for the 2024 season.
