Derrell Johnson '23 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing football since i was 6 years old and I have always envisioned myself playing competitively at college level and then going on to play professionally. Like many people I have faced a few challenges both on and off the field and many were out of my control, but I have kept my eye on the prize while trying to perfect my craft and worked to build myself up physically and mentally. I feel I would be a great asset to any team because I am versatile and coachable. I don't limit myself to only playing positions where I feel comfortable, I play wherever I am needed. Ideally I would like to make a strong impression my freshman year athletically, but I also realize it is as equally important to do the same academically. I am a hard worker and I pride myself in exemplifying confidence, sportsmanship, respectfulness, and I try to maintain a positive mindset in every situation because it's not what you go through, it's how you come out of it.
