I have always been a big kid, and gravitated toward football when I was 6. By the time I was 8 I had to play for a neighboring town, with kids 2-3 years older because they had fielded a 105lb Pop Warner team, and Cinnaminson didn't. I learned valueable lessons that season, as this particular program has historically struggled, but the coach was able to maximize our talent with an unusual single wing offense. Despite only having 16 players he stressed fundimentals, we improved as the season went on and wound up winning the league championship. Those lessons, and the friends I made stick with me to this day.
Starting in 7th grade my father introduced me to weightlifting using the Mark Rippetoe "Starting Strength" workout starting out with light weights, or even just the bar. My bench has improved by 180lbs, squat by 270lbs, and deadlift by 255lbs, and my overhead press by 100lbs since I first began.
At the high school level, I was often called on to drill with, and play scout offense for our best defensive lineman (a D1 commit) who graduates this year, and that experience showed me the amount of hard work and discipline it takes to be the best.
When not playing football, I throw for my schoool's indoor and outdoor track team , which keeps me working hard in the weight room year round.
In the classroom, I achieve high academic performance by taking multiple Honors and AP classes. This leads me to be on our school's Honor Roll every semester. I have also served as my school's elected Student Council Historian since Freshman Year.
When I have "free" time I am active in my church as an altar server and in CYO athletics (basketball) both assisting with coaching younger kids and playing for my Parish at the high school level.
I am taking SAT/ACT in the spring and will update with my scores as soon as they are available.
Thank you in advance for taking a look at my profile!
