My name is Matthew DelVecchio, a senior at South Hunterdon Regional High School in New Jersey. I am the Kicker and on special teams, and cornerback in our football program. A former soccer player, I am focused on my kicking program. I have always been a very competitive person who always wants to finish in first place. I tend to struggle a bit on my academic side, but I only learn from my mistakes.
This year I’returned to my first love, playing football, a sport I had played from age 7 to 13. I have developed my kicking programmer the years as I competed in soccer. It has always been a dream to play college ever since I was 4. all of my life I have competed in sports (Football, Soccer, Ice Hockey, Basketball and Baseball). With my talent, size, strength, and mentality I know that one day it could be my career. In my opinion I feel like I’m above average on the field because I work hard and I strive to be the best version of myself in every game and every practice. I will always come back and work hard no matter how many times I get knocked down.
This season to date I have made all PATs (12 for 12), am 3 for 3 on field goals and had four touchbacks on kickoffs. I am on the nj.com stat leaders list for kicking and was recently named Athlete of the Week for my completion of a 42 yard and 37 yard field goals-a school record!
I am looking forward to a great football season and the chance to develop my skills and add to the highlight videos you will see here.
