My name is Dajuan Thomas, I am currently a 6'3 175 lbs senior quarterback from Plainfield, Nj. Throughout high school I was never really given the opportunity until this year and I am making the most of it. I never complained or bickered about it, each year I just worked and got better and better, stronger and stronger because I know that complaining, bickering and being down on myself would not get me anywhere in life itself. I feel that everything in life happens for a reason and it takes so much failure in life before you truly become successful. Nothing in life is given and I work for everything, if I truly want something in life, I will do whatever it takes to achieve that dream. I am one of the most humble, hard working kids you will get, and I promise you anybody you ask will say that same thing. I don't complain about anything, I take that as a sign of weakness, if you want something done a certain way it will get done that way plus some.
Some collegiate goals and aspirations I have personally is to simply become successful. Failure is not an option!!! Being able to learn and learn and become a better young man on and off the field would truly mean the world to me. College is what's going to mold me from a young man into a man, there will definitely be bumps along the way and that is understandable because nothing is perfect, but when it is all said and done, I will leave a legacy wherever I end up. Sacrifices will be made for the better, and I also want to graduate with at least my bachelors degree. I was always taught to dream big and shoot for the stars, mindset is everything and my head is on straight.
A couple things that would make me a great candidate on any team is my ability to win by all means necessary. I am a grea t teammate and always supporting my teammates, I just want everyone around me to be great, anywhere I end up I will always be a great teammate. I never allow my feelings and emotions get in the way of the team, I come in everyday with a mindset of lets get better. My previous years of highschool we were known for losing, I was tired of that, I wanted to be the change this year. being the quarterback means being a leader, and I love stepping up and leading my team regardless. My body language will never be an issue, I always keep my head high regardless of what's happening, if I am rattled, then my team becomes rattled and that's when things go downhill. As I said previously, it all starts with your mindset and I feel like I have a great mindset.
I feel like my character is what really separates me from others and I truly mean that. I am a very humble and generous person, as I said, i do not allow my frustrations get in the way of the team's success. I am always willing to support and help others, make sacrifices to benefit myself and others. My work ethic is extremely high also, I always want to get better, I always want to get stronger, I know in college there are going to be so many different types of distraction and I will not let any of that faze me from getting where I want to be in life. I always put books before the field, i currently have a 3.81 GPA right now, and that may not mean much but I always make sure I get my work done before I step on that field because I know that if my grades are not good, I will not be able to play. It isn't even about playing though, I must learn and get good grades to put myself in position to be successful in life.
I will truly be humbled and blessed if you give me an opportunity at your school. Everything is earned regardless of what it is in life, everything I talked about in this statement was the honest truth. I've got so much untapped potential and I know I will end up somewhere, I will put myself in position to play at the next level and truly succeed. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this and I won't disappoint if given the opportunity.
Sincerely,
Dajuan Thomas
