Personal Statement
I have played football, basketball, and baseball most of my life. As a tenth grader I started for both the varsity baseball team and the varsity football team. But football is the sport I would love to play in college.
I have been playing football since I was five years old. I have a strong understanding of the game and ability to see the entire field. But when I think about what sets me apart from other players I believe it’s the intensity in which I play the game. I give 110 percent every down of every game. I have always stepped up and performed under the most pressured situations and helped to lead my team to a Suffolk County Division 111 Championship. I don’t give up! That is because football is one of the most important things in my life. I have learned so much from the game. I’ve learned the merit of hard work and how to overcome adversity. I’ve learned that when I don’t think I have anymore to give, to dig deeper. I have learned to trust others and the value of having others trust me as well. But most important, football has made me a confident person who can face any challenge that life has to offer.
When I am asked about why I want to play football in college there are so many things that I could say. But simply, it’s because I don’t want it to end.
