Personal Statement
Many young men dream of playing college football but I believe that I possess the skills and traits necessary to make that dream a reality. I have a strong desire for competition and especially a love for football. My videos tell most of my football story but I would like to give you some background on myself.
I grew up on a small farm just south of Chandler, Oklahoma and with a farm comes many responsibilities. My mom and dad have instilled in me a work ethic that makes a person accountable for their actions. We have livestock including cattle, sheep and pigs and I know they are dependent on me for survival. My farm duties also include hauling hay, building fence, and cutting firewood.
Leadership skills are also important in life as well as on the football field. I have been actively serving as an officer in my local Future Farmers of America Chapter for the past three years. I have also been elected to serve as the President of the Junior Board of the Northeast Oklahoma Lamb Association, which is a regional association with over 100 members. My leadership skills on the field were validated when a Senior informed me they were ready to give up during a rough patch in the season until they looked over and saw I was still playing as though each down would serve as a game winner. I believe in being a quiet leader who allows my play on the field to speak for me.
When I have spare time, I enjoy hunting and fishing. These hobbies have taught me to be respectful of the land as well as respectful to others and their property.
For the reasons listed above as well as others I would be glad to discuss with you, I feel I would make a positive contribution to your football program.
