Coach,
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Gage Brookshire. I am currently a high school senior at Savanna High School . I began playing football in the 5th grade for the Savanna Little League Teams. I continued playing football in Junior High. Each year I played and started for my teams.
I was excited to begin playing high school football for the Savanna Bulldogs. I started my freshman year on a couple of the special team assignments. As a sophomore, I started and played as an Offensive Lineman as well as on special teams.
Each year I played football, my dedication grew and my skills improved. It has long been a goal of mine to play at the next level, college football.
During the 2012 summer, I attended several football camps and combines. I attended combines sponsored by the National Underclassmen Football programs. During these combines, I obtained recognition for the following:
1. National Underclassmen Ultimate 100 Tight-End, Midwest Region
2. National Underclassmen Top 20 Tight-End Elite Prospect National Qualification at the
University of Oklahoma
3. National Underclassmen Twice Undefeated Seven on Seven Champions
4. National Underclassmen Qualification for Nation Seven on Seven Tournament Team,
Orlando Florida
The Savanna Bulldogs won our District Title this year! This is the first time in over fifty years that the Bulldogs have won this title. I was so proud of this accomplishment for my team members, my coaches, and myself! Throughout this season, I started and played as an Offensive Lineman, a Defensive Lineman, and special teams.
I have been selected to participate in the All Star Football Game for our area. This game is being held May 18, 2013 at the Eufaula Ironhead Stadium in Eufaula.
I have been contacted by several out of state coaches concerning possible scholarship assistance. However, I would really appreciate the opportunity to earn the assistance to continue playing football in state.
I have taken the ACT Test, my score is 22. My GPA is 3.60 and I am ranked 16th in my class of 35 students. I am currently 6'3" in height and weigh approximately 225lbs. I have a vertical leap of 24, bench press of 265lbs., 4.6 in the 5-10-5 shuttle, and a 5.1 in the 40 yard run.
I have put together a high light film from the film available to me at this time. The highlights are from just a few of our games. I would really appreciate it if you would take the time to view the attached video.
Thank you for your time,
Gage Brookshire
Integrity, honesty, and a strong work ethic are character traits that I consider to be extremely important. My goals for my life include keeping my faith with God as well as striving to be a responsible and dependable individual. I have always enjoyed playing football. I love the adrenaline rush and excitement that the sport brings to me on a daily basis. One of my dreams has been to go to the next level and compete in college football. I realize this will take extreme work and dedication but I am willing to dedicate myself and my time towards this effort. I also believe an education is extremely important to being a successful adult. I would like to achieve a college education to better prepare myself for future endevors. If given the opportunity, I would like to make these dreams and goal a reality.
