Personal Statement
Most would assume that my greatest asset is my six-foot two-inch, 195 pound stature; however, this is furthest from the truth. Although my physique has been a great advantage in my athletic achievements, my academic disability has had the most beneficial impact on both my educational and athletic success. My dyslexic disability has taught me determination, dedication, and hard work. Dyslexia has pushed me to my furthest limits. However, with each struggle I overcome, I gain strength and confidence. Each day my disability brings me a new challenge and I find great pride in conquering it in all aspects of life; including, football. As I begin my college search, the most important criteria for me is a welcoming team and a positive atmosphere. I am open to all different types of colleges, which vary in size, location, and division. I plan to pursue my dream of becoming an engineer. I am fascinated with mechanics and how they work. My greatest academic strengths are problem solving and constructing different types of objects. I am a very determined, dedicated, and committed student- athlete. I believe that I can offer a team and an educational program great success. I also believe that I can teach other student-athletes how to give their fullest effort by spreading my unique confidence.
