Sports have taught me many valuable lessons. Some of these lessons are on the field. These are the lessons I take and use to get better every day. The other lessons however are not something to help me be a better athlete, these lessons help me to be a better person and leader. These lessons are what make me love football and baseball.
Before I talk about sports though, I would like to talk about the importance of academics in my high school experience. I live by the saying that faith comes first, then family, then academics, then sports. Academics comes before football to me because I believe that I have to excel in the classroom before I can ever excel on the field.
Football helps me express myself through my passion for the game. I feel as if every snap there is a new life and it just gives me the want to give my all every snap. This attitude that I have is why I was able to achieve First Team All Region last year as a sophomore.
Baseball has taught me how to be patient and humble. While baseball has treated me very well, I have put in the work and continue to put in the work so I can continue to produce. This summer I had 100 PA’s with 75 AB’s. I batted .373 with a .510 obp and had 31 RBI’s with only 8 k’s.
With all this being said, I love Football and Baseball not just because of the enjoyment I get whenever I play the game, but also because of the lessons they have taught me as well.
