Personal Statement
I am a Christian and my faith is very important in my life. I want to be successful in all areas of my life. What that looks like for me is treating others with respect, helping others, and giving my best at all that I do. As it relates to sports I have been playing organized sports, baseball since I was 5 years old and football since I was in the third grade. Football and baseball have been a big part of my life. I enjoy the teamwork, striving toward a common goal, and the competition. When I am on the field I realize in order to win it takes the entire team. As a quarterback I know leadership is important. I have been playing quarterback since fourth grade and during that time I have had the opportunity to work with some really good coaches that have taught me a lot. I know there is still a lot that I need to learn and I am very willing to listen and learn how to improve at playing the position. To me leadership is more about actions than words. I try to lead by working hard, making good decisions, and supporting my teammates. I have won some individual awards in both sports, but the awards have never really been that important. Success for me in sports, academics, and in life is really a question as to whether I have worked hard and given my best. I hope you will consider me as a student athlete for your school. I believe that these qualities make me a good candidate to make an impact on the field and in the classroom.
