Austin Bolin '12 Recruiting Profile

I have been a varsity starter on my football team the past four years. Despite my personal success as a player, my team has forgone significant struggles through my high school career. My first three seasons as an Eagle at Tongue River High School we only managed to compile three wins. However, these unsuccessful seasons helped me learn how poor leadership from upper classmen results in hardly any wins. My senior year, we were forced to join teams with our rival school due to lack of players on our team. Although it was a tough transition, this situation taught me how to deal with controvercy and ultimately helped me become a better leader. My teammates and I were able to make a push to the playoffs, finishing the regular season with a 5-3 record even though only three players, including myself, had any varsity experience from prior seasons. Our youth along with the combining of our teams were two difficult things to overcome but as a team captain I was able to help lead us to the playoffs even though we were knocked out in the first round. As my coaches will attest to, I am a very coachable player and I'm always looking to improve and take criticism. Rest assured, my open-mindedness and posotive attitude allows me to fit into virtually any coaching system and I will work my hardest to improve my teammates as wellas myself day in and day out.
