Shane Sands '23 Recruiting Profile

Currently, I am attending West Los Angeles College and red shirting for this season and developing under the guidance of our head coach.  I am practicing with the team twice a week, weight training almost every day, and working out with a professional trainer every Friday.  I am also playing at tournaments in Orange County on the weekends getting starter minutes.  Since this summer I have increased my shooting range, mid range, speed, vertical, defense, dunking, and overall understanding of college level play.

My ultimate aspiration is to become a successful NBA player.  I have been playing team basketball since I was 5 for AAU's and schools.  I have trained to become an elite and complete player both physically and mentally.   My offensive strengths start with my elite 3-point shooting, advanced ball handling, solid midrange, precise passing, finishing at the rim, and rebounding.  I am unique defensively because of my elite agility and speed to defend point guards, and my height and length to defend shooting guards, small forwards, and even centers at the high school levels.   I also have a unique ability to get rebounds both offensively and defensively.  I work well with coaches and teammates.    I am always seeking to get all of my teammates involved through my passing and play making.  With the right program I can continue to grow and excel to become an amazing basketball player.

My academic pursuits are in the realm of marketing and communication.  I would like to major in marketing, communication, and graphic design.  Both of my parents are entrepreneurs and are always teaching me the importance of marketing and advertising your business.   I am also very artistic and creative.   Even as a professional player much of your success is directly tied to your marketing and communication.  I am a very fast learner and a seeker of knowledge.  With the right program my potential is extraordinary.
