2022 SpotlightI truly enjoy every aspect of playing competitive basketball. I’ve especially found the game’s difficulties ultimately rewarding. The first tournament I attended with my travel club team was in Salt Lake City, where we lost all four games by an average of 70 points. It was difficult to find motivation as a team after what felt like such a failure. But over the last four years, collaborative determination and consistent development have led us to winning our last five tournaments in Denver. This experience taught me that nothing builds a team more than learning to communicate effectively, motivate others, and lead by example: especially when faced with such adversity. And when working towards a common goal alongside others, genuine companionship naturally builds. I love basketball because it has given me amazing friends, grown my leadership skills, and my ability to work as a team toward a common goal.
