In my first year of varsity basketball as a junior, I had a great experience with my coaches and my teammates, despite the fact that we did not win a single game throughout the season. I have learned a lot as this was the first time that I had competed in a high level of basketball. I believe that this year has set me up for a great senior year; as I have come to understand that losing is meant to be a way for you to see the things that you could improve in your game.
I started playing basketball because of my dad, he had introduced me to the game and I fell in love with it. I come from the Philippines and the transfer to a boarding school in the USA has drastically improved my knowledge and skill for the game of basketball. There was a significant difference in the competition in the USA compared to the Philippines; this forced me to learn how to adapt and thrive with the level of basketball in the USA. I am also smaller than the average guard in the USA, I had to learn how to be effective with my height and use my quickness as an advantage.
I try to be the best that I can be in everything that I do. I would love to compete at the collegiate level simply because, I love the game basketball, I love to compete and I love to train and try to reach my full potential as a basketball player, as a student, and as a member of the society.
