Basketball has always been a part of my life. I fell in love with the game from the moment a ball was put into my hands. My goal has always been to play basketball at the college level and to attend a college where I can succeed academically as well. At E.O. Smith I received honors and high honors all 4 years while playing 3 sports. This helped me learn how to manage my time effectively and make sacrifices in order to be successful not only in school, but on the court as well.
Basketball has taught me how to overcome adversity. Without basketball I would not have learned that hard work and dedication are the keys to success. Nothing in life comes easy - the only way to learn and get better at something is by making mistakes. Basketball taught me that learning from your mistakes, instead of repeating or reminiscing about them, is the only way to advance at something in life. Basketball helped me gain confidence and believe in myself. I continue going through the process of working hard every day to try and better myself mentally and physically.
My dedication and willingness to do better is what drives me every single day. I would love to hear from coaches from colleges that value athletics as well as academics. I look forward to fulfilling my childhood dream of playing in college.
