Personal Statement
Basketball has been my passion since I was a little kid. I have been playing on various AAU travel teams all year around since 4th grade in the Chicago based area. Competing in circuits such as NY2LA, Adidas, Nike, Prep Hoops and other top events, has given me exposure of some of the top players in the state/region and even the nation. This experience has taught me the mental and relentless work-ethic needed to succeed both physically and mentally.
My influence “stems” from my father who grew up in a small town in Michigan and later transferring to a sub-burb of Chicago in 2009. Not knowing what was going to happen with the job transfer, I watched his disciplined approach each day and hard-work ethic to provide all we wanted as a family. His routine and discipline rarely changed from day to day and watched him succeed year over year.
Academically, I feel it’s equally important to maintain a high-standard GPA where I currently hold ~ 3.9 unweighted GPA. I push myself enrolling in several College Prep classes to gain the knowledge needed at the next level.
On the court, being a Team Captain for every team I have played for, I understand the importance and leadership role needed to make the team succeed. Having strong ball handling, high basketball IQ, and great shooting ability allows me to play both point guard or shooting guard to help the team where needed. My heavy desire to learn allows me to be very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players on any team. My humble and modest approach to the game as gained respect of my peers both on and off the court.
