Thank you very much for taking the time to read my personal statement. I started playing volleyball in 6th grade and once I started playing in high school, I realized I wanted to play at the college level. I love the challenge it brings me on and off the court as a player and as a teammate. I consider myself to be a team leader during practices and games. I maintain a positive attitude off and on the court and encourage my teammates in difficult times. As an outside hitter I look for the opportunity to get the kill and block, and as a defensive specialist I love to control the backrow in serve receive and defense. To my coaches I am known for my consistency and all-around play on the court. Being selected as All-Conference my sophomore and junior years and making it to the regional championship game with my high school team have been two highlights of this season.
I'm just as passionate about academics as I am about volleyball. My interest in helping others and my attraction to the medical field have helped me with the decision in pursuing nursing, specifically pediatric oncology. In school I have maintained a high GPA of 3.8 by working hard and being responsible. I love the relationship I have been able to build with my teachers and I love to learn new skills.
Outside of academics and volleyball, my extracurricular activities include: serving on missions trips, attending bible study with my youth group, participating in youth camps, being a student leader Eagle Ambassador and Dunham Scholar recipient at school, participate in the yearbook class and participation in art class where my art work was showcased at the 2023 Congressional Art Competition.
I am excited for the what the future holds and what new endeavors I can be apart of.
