Personal Statement

My love for the game of basketball has come from my dad, who was my coach all throughout little league and is now my high school coach.  He has helped me learn the game and how to be a good teammate, as well as how to work hard, the sacrifices it takes to be great, and how to win.  I feel that I grew the most as a student-athlete my junior year, when our rival school knocked us out of the playoffs for the second straight year.  This led my drive to become better, so I can help lead my team further this upcoming season.  It also helped me to work to become a better point guard and one that can play at the collegiate level.

I have been fortunate to be a part of a program that is trending in the right direction.  In my first three years, our record has gotten better every year.  We continue to win more games, and make it deeper into the playoffs.  Falling short of the state tournament every year has taught me discipline, integrity, commitment, sacrifice, and the importance of team work.  I have learned how to step up and be a leader.  I learned how to work hard to be the best I can be, as well as help my teammates to become the best that they can be.  I am looking for a program that is a good fit for me on the court, off the court, and in the classroom.  I believe that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but also the character, discipline, focus,  leadership skills, work-ethic, and competitiveness to make an immediate impact on your program.  As a four year, four sport athlete, I know what it takes to leader on a team and help that team be competitive and successful.
