Dakota Heimbaugh '23 Recruiting Profile

My goal is continue my education and basketball career at the collegiate level. I am undecided on a major at this time, but it is important for me to excel as a student athlete.  

I am most often the shortest player on the court but I do not play that way! My mindset is always "it does not matter how big you are but how big you play!" Every time I step on the court I work hard and I am an excellent team player! I do play "big" every game, I have a high basketball IQ and I know when to drive, when to shoot and when to pass. My team is successful when I am at my best, whether that is with my passion for defense, my speed, assists or steals to push my teams on both sides of the ball.  I bring intensity and an contagious energy every minute I am on the court. 

I step up "big" at school as well! I have a 3.5 GPA and I am part of  MVP (Mentor in Violence Prevention) where I teach, model, mentor and help to create programs that challenge abusive behavior. I have really enjoyed being a part of this program to also help underclassman transition to high school and make them feel welcome!
