Yusuf Mavins '25 Recruiting Profile

          My name is Yusuf Mavins and I am a student athlete dedicated to the game of basketball. I have been playing basketball since I could remember, and ever since I touched the ball, I couldn't put it down. My number one goal is to play professional Basketball. In this process, I want to play at the division one level. I’m different from other players because, I try to focus on making myself and the people who surround me better. Also I have an outstanding work ethic. I work on being a better player as much as I can, and I always work at one-hundred percent. Another thing that makes me different is that I get everything done in the class room, with a GPA of 4.25.  As I also do amazing things on the court.

           I am an elite ball handler who can facilitate the offense, and execute with all defensive plays such as defensive traps, zone defense, press defense, and man to man defense.  Secondly I am a lockdown defender who can get through screens easily, prevent the opposing team from scoring, and facilitate the defense. Lastly, I have a very high IQ. I can anticipate what the defense is going to do, make great passes, and I can make the right play at the right time.
