Personal Statement

I hope to attend a college with strong academics and a respected basketball program, but I am realistic about that. I don't know what I would like to study, but I'm very interested in product design, so I know it's somewhere in STEM, like engineering (or outside STEM, architecture or graphic design).

I am a certified lifeguard who currently works at a swim school. I work five days a week during the summer, and three during the school year. I work out daily on my own after work. In my free time, I like to hang at the beach with my friends, play pick up games, wakeboard, teach myself guitar, and make things.

I think what makes me a good candidate is that I am a team player, I am aggressive, and I am well-rounded on defense and offense. Here is what coaches have said about me.

Comments from prior AAU coaches: Not afraid to put his body on the line. Coachable passion. Committed to always leveling up. Well rounded skills. Respectful. Great attitude.

Comments from Exact Clinic Evaluation, Coach, Regis College:  Footwork - Quality use of triple threat position and pivoting. Quick first step. Always on balance and ready to react on both offense and defense. Shooting - Accurate shooter. Always on balance and ready to confidently step into shot. Thought Speed - Does well seeing the play before it happens and reading the other team to help put himself in a good position on the court. O Awareness - Recognizes when to shoot or pass. Awareness of time and score of the game and makes plays accordingly. Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Agility - Showed good agility. Good body positioning and footwork helped you change directions quickly. Resistance To Stress - Maintains composure in pressure situations. Great job staying focused on the task at hand. Team Player - Great team-first attitude. Was encouraging and supportive to teammates throughout camp. Additional Coach's Comments: Kyle had an awesome attitude and was great to work with at camp. He competed as hard as he could every time he was on the floor. He showed his ability to knock down open shots.

  • PLAYER EVALUATION: Kyle Satornino 5'11 160 Guard 2026 A good on ball defender with some quickness. Active on both ends. He does have a decent I Q. A guard that gives you solid hustle on both ends of the floor. A player that moves well without the ball. Runs the fast break and gets out to start offense with his ball handling. Goes after loose balls all over the court. Handles it well most of the time. A decent rebounding guard on the court. Needs to work on his handle against good defensive pressure. It's solid but can be better. Needs to keep working on his dribble moves and shooting off the dribble as well as the catch. There are hundreds of thousands of guards out there that will be fighting for the same college opportunities you will be in a few years. Keep up the great work and really focus on your skill development while seeking out the best competition you can find to help challenge yourself. This will help you prepare yourself best to grab one of those college roster spots.
