Personal Statement
Dear College Coaches
I myself aspire for many dreams and have dedicated thousands of hours into the game I love, which is basketball. When I reach the college level I would like run the point guard position, for I am extremely versatile and have an incredible sense of court vision. When on the court, shooting wise, my confidence leads me to knock down quite a few of my jumpers, for I have a great amount of range and consistency with my shot. Not only can I shoot the ball well, my ball handling skills allow me to get by defenders and forces them to recover at all costs; as well as my ability to use both hands equally can lead them to second guess my ability. Finally, on the defensive end, I am able to force bad-shots and lead to turnovers through craftiness and athleticism, since I come from a city where defense is probably the most key aspect of a players game.
On an academic standpoint, I am very well driven and have accomplished straight A's through the years. For giving up is not an option, and I will not allow myself to be a failing student.
The last thing I would like to touch on, is my character. Many people when they are given offers, or called by coaches, take it for granted. However I see it differently, those wonderful things give a chance to work even harder on my game so that I can be even better when a new offer comes in. On the court, I seek to encourage my teammates' attitude, so that they will trust in me and others, so that the chemistry continually develops and our team becomes a much tougher team to play against. For there will be no instance where anybody will see me, disrespecting teammates, coaches, officials or any sort of spectator. That is why I believe sportsmanship can lead to great things and respect.
