Malak Bontzolakes...Personal Statement
My goals and aspiration are to play at the highest level of D1 Basketball. What makes me a good candidate is the I have a high basketball IQ for a 13-year-old, I am an excellent shooter, and I am an unselfish basketball player. These are things coaches have said about me. I am also a quiet and disciplined basketball player who works hard outside of practices, and it shows on the court. My team can always depend on me in tough situations and games where the scores are close. I am confident in my abilities, but still work hard at the things that I feel I need to get better at with my trainer. I am homeschooled and that gives me the chance to practice while others are in school. When I get done with my work for the day all I want to do is either go train on my handle (with my trainer) or train shooting with my mom. My emotional connection to working hard is that my family (siblings) were taken away from me when I was under 1 years old, and my dream is to help put my family back together. My very specific goal for my basketball career is to beat the current 3 pt. scoring record. My Career High was 31 points, which I achieved 2 times in the same weekend in Erie, PA tournament Fall 2023. My average is 24.4 pt ppg, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assist, 1 block, 2.1 steals... (As of 1/2024)

- Playing in the Under Armour Circuit 1st year with CGE, top shooter, SG 6'0 . Look for him to shoot 30-50% of team points. He is reuniting with a team player point guard from 2 years ago as well as pairing with a team player power rebounder from last year.
- 2023 Born 2 Ball Syracuse NY (AAU)
- Jersey number varies. Malak plays on this team at the request of Coach Zak on occasions where we are available to assist in tournaments in Rochester, NY. Our hope is to transition to Elite team in the Spring 2024 circuit as we transition from the Un1t Promise to an exclusive Elite team. Will put up schedule as the team comes together.

- We joined early Fall Season 3.5 hours away in Elmira. City of Lights Basketball Team Recruited Malak after performances G-Day Combine March 2023 & Gus Macker -Ithaca August 2023. Malak had an opportunity to in a leadership role and PG position. Although one of the youngest players in the group & only in 8th grade. Malak carried himself with great leadership abilities helping team to 3 championship games, falling short of the wins in those games, but an inspiration to watch him and his team grow tremendously.

- Even though Malak is currently in Middle School, we wanted to see how he compares to the current HS players and to see if he gels better with athletes out of WNY who are not in trying to outshine him, but looking forward to players that understand its a team effort and playing team basketball brings home championships.

- Edit: Proud to say Malak Bontzolakes was honored with being selected TOP 20 at this Combine! He played in the All-Star Game on 12/17/2023... Perseverance and Hard Work paid off. The last CP3 Event, Malak felt defeated not understanding the magnitude of what a CP3 combine looked like. He feels confident that he is ready to perform at the level that was needed during his 1st experience and is grateful and eager to attend this camp.
