Personally, I am a low-key, friendly, well-mannered, ethical, moral, honest, articulate, respectful, truthful, popular, corny jokes telling, and a get along with everyone type of guy; except for when I'm giving my opponent fits on the court. I am fortunate and blessed to grow up in a stable nuclear household in an ethnically diverse upper middle class community. I have a nagging, but awesome, little sister who plays volleyball. Also, I have loving, educated, and athletic parents to guide, teach, support me in my life's journey.
Socially, I am active in my community and in my church; I help lead children's church, and on occasion, I volunteer at my sister's volleyball games. I am a charming people person and I am learning to face challenges head-on.
Academically, I am the obvious choice for your institution of higher learning and here are the 3 reasons why: Number 1, as a student-athlete, at one of the premier and more rigorous academic private institutions in the State of North Carolina, I currently have a 3.83/4.0 GPA; Number 2, I embrace a challenging course load which will only prepare me for the academic demands of a higher learning education; and Number 3, you will not have to academically worry about me not satisfying both university and NCAA eligibility and graduation requirements, or exceeding them.
Athletically, I envision myself successfully playing men's basketball as a starter at both the collegiate and NBA levels. Since my dad put a basketball in my big hands at 2 years old my passion and talent to defend, dribble, and shoot were evident. While I recognize my weaknesses & areas for improvement, I am confident your program can make me stronger and better in those areas. Thus, I am the obvious choice for your collegiate basketball program.
Here are 10 reasons why: Number 1- I am coachable; Number 2- I have a high basketball IQ; Number 3- I have a never quit, energetic work ethic; Number 4- I have a God-given talent and athletic ability that I nurture via fundamental skills training; Number 5- I have an old-school, gritty, and in-your-face defensive mentality and style; Number 6- a team-oriented focus; Number 7- a strong mid-range game and bank-shot; Number 8- a solid 3-point jump shot; Number 9- a quick learner of schemes, plays, and concepts; and Number 10- I am a great rebounder- no one is getting the ball from me.
I am tough as nails, I "leave-it-all-on-the-court", cheer my teammates on, and even give my teammates fits in practice. I believe in the spirit of you "earn it in practice you earn in the game." I always seek to improve my game.
I am confident that I will find the right university. I will explore all my options with my family and we will make the right decision as various higher learning and basketball opportunities present themselves.
