My name is Quintel Johnson and I am ready to enter the next level of basketball while pursuing my degree. My basketball journey began when I was four years old. I played for the Parks and Recreation until I was old enough to play in Middle School and then a few years at High School.
I have had some many positive influences a and mentors along the way. My father played College basketball, Cousin played college then WNBA, and my Uncle Aaron Kert Ellis played College and now professional. I am determined to some day be on that same level, as my skills continue to improve with a well developed College team. I am ready to commit and build my future through academics and basketball. I take being a student-athlete serious, along with trying to be a leader (setting plays), as well as listening and learning through every opportunity the Coach and professor provides. I would like to explore every option there is, as I study either within an Art , Culinary, Liberal Studies and Education, Physical Education, or Exercise Science. It is important to find a school with a high graduation rate among athletic players as I want to fulfill my obligation to play the entire time at the same school while obtaining my degree.
My Uncle, Aaron Kert Ellis is not a stranger to Wichita State Basketball, Jacklyn Johnson Kansas State. My father, Michael Johnson, Jr, Antelope Valley College until he had to work full-time. When I am not assisting in taking care of my two younger adoptive sisters with special needs while my parents work, I am in the gym practicing my basketball skills; pursuing camps to improve and gain new skills; or playing AAU basketball. I believe in taking advantage of each opportunity to practice drills to improve myself as a player.
Playing at a Collegiate level is not only an honor and privilege but my passion and hope to pursue a basketball career beyond College.
