Personal Statement
My name is Bentley Polk and I’m a 17 year old, 6‘-6“shooting guard/wing from Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve had a love for basketball since a very young age and have played on organized teams since kindergarten, including rec leagues and competitive AAU travel teams. I started dunking at age 14 and now l just want to dunk it every time I get the ball. Two of my greatest strengths are rebounding and shot blocking. I love to play defense! I am a good outside and mid-range shooter, have a very strong basketball IQ, can finish well at and above the rim, and am easily coached. As a freshman, I started for my JV team and got moved up to play on varsity towards the end of the year. My sophomore year I was getting good minutes on my varsity team and worked my way into the starting lineup. Last year I was the starting shooting guard/small forward for our Varsity team which finished 3rd in our district. My goal for my senior year is to help my team win the District Championship by being a vocal leader and the best player on the court in every game I play. I have always had a strong work ethic and am committed to doing whatever it takes to play at the next level. Academically I’m an A and B student who stays out of trouble and has great relationships with my parents, teachers, and coaches. In addition to basketball, I play the tenor saxophone and placed first chair in the highest level of the Mid-State honor band. Some other hobbies include fishing, wakeboarding, and writing and producing my own music.
