"The love of basketball," I can honestly say, it started when I was 2 years old. Since then, any opportunity, I was able to shoot the ball, I had taken it! I remember, growing up, and being in the Kids' Club, when my mother, worked out at Lifetime Fitness, when I was only 3 years old. While everyone played outside, I played basketball in the small gym. I had such a passion for the game. I worked every day to get better shooting, as the years progressed. From I-9 Sports to AAU to currently, high school basketball, I never wavered, in trying to get better in basketball. I knew if I worked harder and strive more, my dream of becoming a NBA player, would be possible. If that meant giving up time to hang out or spend time with my family, I had to do it. I knew the work is NEVER done.
Every day, I focused and worked in the classroom and on the basketball court. I have ALWAYS had a great work ethic, the ability to grind, and to have faith. Then, I knew life, would take me further, then I could ever imagine. My Parents have always instilled in me to NEVER give up. They always said, "if you want it...you can achieve it." Furthermore, my Mom has always told me, "You are a Prince in the making and one day, you will be a King." To always stand and walk tall. That is when you will earn RESPECT. I know through my actions and behavior, I can and will accomplish anything in life. I MUST stay focused and locked in, at all times.
In the classroom, I study hard to make sure, I maintain a high GPA. I want to continue, being in organizations, such as National Junior Society and Student Council, so I can be continue to be more academic successful. Therefore, I want to attend a college, where my core values are met with a diversified student body and a basketball team, that is a "TEAM". Remember, there is no "I" in TEAM. Finally, I want to pray for a successful life as a future intelligent NBA player and even then, "THE WORK IS NOT DONE." Thank you. signed, Future NBA player. #Shawn Jenkins
