Highlights 19-20 ...Hi my name is Ashlee Leverett, I play center at Klein Cain High School as a senior, graduating class 2022. I have been playing basketball since I was 5 years old and my love for the sport has done nothing but grown.
Playing basketball at an even more competitive level like college has been a life long dream of mine. I wish to play women's basketball while also getting a bachelors degree in business more specific accounting.
My freshman year of high school, I played for JV but soon after a couple of months I moved to varsity where I started here and there. My sophomore year I was still on varsity where I was still off and on as a starter but still getting lots of playing time that I valued very much. At the beginning of my Junior year, in September, I was playing a 3v3 game with some of my teammates when the ball was shot I went to block out my person when me and the other teammate collided resulting in my kneecap being dislocated. I tore 2 ligaments and tore some cartilage under the kneecap. This was a major setback for me. With this injury it resulted in me not having a Junior season. I immediately started therapy. After a couple of MRI's and visiting different knee surgeons, we came to realize that there was something in my knee that was holding me back from being able to heal and strengthen properly. There was broken cartilage floating around my knee, so in March I had a scope surgery to have that removed. Surgery went amazing and the broken cartilage was removed. Since March I have been doing therapy and I can say that it has given me hope of being able to fulfill my dreams of playing in college. As I continue to do therapy, I am on target to be playing my senior year. I'm so grateful and extremely excited to be able to get back on the court.
Although I have been through a crazy year, I have maintained a high GPA at 4.7/5.0. Within that, I was taking honors classes. I love to challenge myself in my school work and therefore school is something that is important to me. I love learning new things and have a constant drive to do so.
On the court, I am a team player. I'm there to not only make myself better but to help my teammates get better. Team playing is something that I value very much. I am a very coachable player and will do whatever it takes to make sure what I am doing is beneficial to the team. As a center I think I have a very good shooting rage, along with good post moves that I can use under the goal when on a 1v1 situation.
Thank you for taking your time to read a bit about me!
