My name is James McIntyre and I am a combo guard for Washington-Liberty High School. Ever since I was little, I wanted to play college basketball and have worked really hard to improve my game over the last couple of years. I am an honor roll student and take pride in doing well in school.
This season, our team had a lot of success despite rarely having a full roster because of Covid cases. We won our District (first time in 21 years), were Region runner-ups and made it to the State Tournament. Our success came because we were unselfish and did what was best for the team. Personally, I was able to lead the team in scoring. If my shots were not falling, I contributed in other ways and my teammates stepped up. That is what I love about being on a team. We all cheer each other on and have each other's backs.
I was selected Co-MVP of the team, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Region and 2nd Team All-State. DMV Elite also selected me as 3rd Team 2022 All-Northern Virginia Team. I will continue to work hard to improve my strength, speed, and basketball skills so I am in the best position to help my team. Our goal is to win States next season!
