Hello any coaches viewing this,
I'd like to think that I can fit in well on most teams because I have a team-first mentality and I have a drive to improve my game. Although I cannot verify it because my school does not keep track of anything but points at the Middle School level, I believe and so do several teammates of mine (now on the varsity team) that I am the current all time record holder for career assists at the Middle School level. As you may have noticed, I am not going to be the tallest guy on the court, but I believe that is a blessing as that has forced me to hone other skills such as ball handling and shooting instead of relying on my size. Since last season this has changed as I was about 5'2" entering my freshman year, 5'4" when I had my season-ending knee injury in that January, and have now reached 5'8" this year. I am still far from the tallest player on the court but this will really help me in the future when I do finish growing at an estimated height of around six feet tall, because I will now have a whole new element of my game that I've never really had before, which will make me a greater scoring threat as well because I can drive to the basket and be less likely to be blocked. On the JV level at least this has already begun to change, I have put up points in every game this season and have put up 9, 8, and 13 points in a few of my most recent games. Furthermore, off the court I have a friendly personality that I think makes it easier to connect with me. I have a passion for the game of basketball and want to get better, I do not know if it is realistic but I would love to play at a college that also has a solid academics program.
Thank you for reading, Garrett
