For my future in college, I want to compete at the highest level possible for me. I want to make it into a D1 school, because I feel that I push myself enough and I’m capable of doing so. I’m a good candidate for any college school, because I’m a good person on and off of the court. I volunteer with the youth (as in coaching and reffing), I make good decisions, for I have never drank, done drugs or tobacco, and lastly, I’m a hard worker, self motivated and driven. I will bring all I have to every game and practice. I’m different from other people for several reasons.
First, my character. I lead by example for my teammates and peers on and off the court. I’m not persuaded by bad influences and have a mind of my own. Staying positive is important to me, I will take a positive approach to everything.
Second my athletics. I’ve been chosen as team captain in basketball for the past several years in AAU and club ball. It is a norm for me to be in a gym 15-20 hours a week between basketball, volunteering and weight-lifting (my bench has gone up 50 pounds in the last year). I’m proud be considered a “gym rat”, and am not shy to talk/lead on the court. Also, as a leader, I strive to empower the people around me.
Finally, my academics. I have a strong work ethic, and I take being a Student-Athlete very seriously. I’ve maintained a 3.6 or higher GPA throughout my high school career, and I’ve been awarded High Honors 3 out of the 3 semesters that I’ve been in high school for doing so. I’ve been playing cello since 5th grade, and I earned first chair this year.
