Derek Okubo '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Derek Okubo and I am currently a sophomore living in Southern California. I attend United Christian Academy High School which I have been attending since I was in Kindergarten. Last year I was ranked #1 in my division and was awarded 2023 MVP for my team and All Majestic First Team 2023 for our division. Our team also won the CIF Southern Section Championship in 2023 and I had the lowest scoring average in the division as a freshman. I am going to start attending SCPGA Tour Events for the upcoming 2024 season and can’t wait to start competing.

Outside of golf, I am an active member of my high schools tech team in which I help lead the chapels for worship. My goal is to play college golf in a university that best fits my ability and academic interests. I have passion for the game and am willing to work hard for my goals.
