Personal Statement

I have always loved the game of golf. I started playing at the age of four years old. I played in my first tournament when I was six years old and I won. I have played in countless tournaments throughout my life and I have had a lot of success. I know I can bring that same success to any team I play on. My dream is to become an NCAA Mens Golf National Champion. I would be a great contribution to a team because I have a fun personality and I can post good scores. I encourage my teammates whenever they are down and it helps them play better. Something that separates me from other players is my ability to put bad shots/holes/rounds behind me. There is nothing you can do to change the outcome of the last hole or shot, just do it better the next time. I have had great success in my academics, making A honor roll every single year. I am in honors classes and I took two college classes as a sophomore and right now I will graduate with 18 college credits. I would be thrilled to be a part of your team.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Pekin Invite
  • 9/15/23 to 9/16/23
  • Day one at Parkview and shot a 72(E). With an unbelievable amount of putts. I’m sure you can see a trend going here. Hit 17 greens. Day two at Lick Creek and shot a 76 at a notoriously hard course my first time playing it. Placed 6th of about 110 players
  • Camp/Event
  • Metamora Invite
  • 9/08/23 to 9/09/23
  • Two day tournament. Shot 76(+4) the first day at Weaver Ridge and I went +3 on the last three. Day two at Metamora I shot 71 (-1) which felt better. 6th place finish
  • Camp/Event
  • Nota Begay National Championship Sectional Qualifier
  • 7/11/23 to 7/12/23
  • Day 1: 74 (36-38) in crazy wind, poor putting. Day 2: 78 (36-42) all pars on front and a poor back nine. Oddly enough, felt like I hit the ball and putted better on day 2. T-7 in a very strong field
  • Camp/Event
  • State Farm Youth Classic
  • 6/26/23 to 6/27/23
  • Day 1: 75 (36-39) with a triple on the front. Day 2: 70 (39-31). T-1, lost in playoff
  • Camp/Event
  • Illinois State Amateur Qualifier
  • 6/14/23 to 6/14/23
  • 79 (38-41). Some poor golf was played to say the least. Learned great things from it
  • Camp/Event
  • Nota Begay III Local Qualifier
  • 6/02/23 to 6/02/23
  • Top 3 made it to sectional qualifier. T-1 with a 74 (+2) but lost in playoff due to opponent chip in on 230 yard par 3
  • Camp/Event
  • Ironwood Jr. Open
  • 5/27/23 to 5/28/23
  • Jr / Sr Boys Division. Day One: 76 (+4), horrendous putting. Day Two: 71 (-1), putted same as day one. 2nd place
  • Camp/Event
  • Weibring Summer Jr. Classic
  • 7/25/22 to 7/26/22
  • Jr / Sr HS Boys Division. Day One: 73 (+1) Day two: 74 (+2) 3 putted 18. 3rd of 41
  • Camp/Event
  • Prairie Vista Summer Jr. Classic
  • 7/20/22 to 7/21/22
  • Jr / Sr HS Boys Division. Day One: 75 (+3) Day Two: 73 (+1) 7th place
  • Camp/Event
  • Peoria Notre Dame Invitational
  • One day tournament. Shot 72 (E) with a lot of short putts missed
  • Camp/Event
  • Bloomington High School Invite
  • One day tournament. Shot 75 (+3) on a pretty windy day. 2nd place
  • Camp/Event
  • Coyote Creek Invite
  • One day tourney. Shot 76(+4) with a very poor last few holes. T-3
  • Camp/Event
  • Danville Invite
  • One day tournament. Shot a 74(+2). 5th place
  • Camp/Event
  • Intercity Championship
  • Shot a poor 76(+4). Won a 3 hole playoff with a 25 foot birdie putt.
  • Camp/Event
  • Big 12 Conference Championship
  • One day tournament. Shot a 69(-3). Hard not to mention a three putt from 4 feet for birdie on 17 and a missed 5 foot birdie putt on 18. It’s quite obvious that my putting was off the whole season but it will be a focus over the winter. Took 1st place.
  • Camp/Event
  • IHSA Regional Tournament
  • Shot a 72(E). Hit every green on the back nine with all pars. Yet again, putting holding me back. Took 1st place
  • Camp/Event
  • IHSA Sectional Championship
  • Bit of a shock with this one. Shot an 80(+8). No excuses. Tough course got the best of me. Poor golf and lost my head a time or two. I won’t let it bother me in the future but I will learn many good things from it. Missed the cut for state by a stroke
