I have played baseball since I could pick up a bat. Our local summer baseball league wasn't very good the summer of my 7th grade year, so I decided to try Junior Golf at our local Country Club. I instantly fell in love with the sport. After hours and hours of practicing pitching with my dad, I had to somehow convince him I was going to play golf in high school instead of baseball. He said if I got my handicap to a 5 I could try out...(he didn't think it would happen.) Well challenge accepted...4.7 in 18 months. I won 5 golf tournaments between seventh and eighth grade year at Junior Golf. I stayed on the course morning to night knowing I wanted to make varsity team as a Freshman. Big goals, yes. Go big or go home. Well I went big. I played well enough to make 1st bag of our Varsity team, beating out 4 seniors. I won three golf tournaments in High School with a low of 70 (-2) during my freshman year. We did very well as team and really I enjoyed helping my fellow teammates, especially the seniors to go to State and place 2nd. I also really enjoyed pushing my fellow teammates to be the best golfers they could be and encourage them when their round wasn't their best performance. My Freshman year of High School I maintained a 4.0 GPA , I get my homework done so I can get on the course before the sun goes down.
My collegiate goal is D1, so that I can compete at the highest level. I have been very coachable since 1st grade playing t-ball. I want to get better everyday. I love to play golf, so I am on the golf course or driving range as many hours as possible, some days from 8 AM to 9 PM during the summer. I often play with the older men on our course so I can see how they play different shots. I just want to keep learning the game to continually get better.
