Personal Statement

My goal is to play college golf at a school that is a reasonable driving distance from Minneapolis that offers a strong Business program with actuarial science and a competitive golf team.

I strive to excel in academics, golf, leadership, and contributing to the community.  I'm proud to maintain a 3.8 GPA with rigorous courses, a composite ACT score of 25, 2014 induction into the National Honor Society, 3-time varsity golf team captain, peer leader, and Big Buddy mentor.  Like most other high level golfers, I have a strong work ethic and am passionate about golf.

On the golf course, I've been fortunate to experience a lot of success, and enjoy competition at very high levels including the Minnesota Junior PGA Players Tour (highest level), MAJGT, FCWT, varsity golf since 7th grade, MGA Juniors State Championships, Minnesota State Junior Boys Championship, and Optimist International Championships at PGA National in West Palm Beach. 2015 was a very good season, where I finished 5th in the Northwest Suburban Conference including a medalist round of 69, finished in the top 20 in the 3 biggest MN state junior events, and won my club championship.

I work year round with PGA Professional Gray Gillian at GolfTec.  My greatest strengths are my short game, and mental ability to grind even when I'm not playing my best during a round.

High school coach quotes: “Any college program would be lucky to have a player like Alex Rogan”, “Alex has high potential, and will continue towards achieving it due to his dedication, intelligence, and drive”
