I have grown up in the small town of Lake City, Minnesota my whole life. My class of 110 students is very close. I have also grown up playing just about any sport you can think of, and practicing most of them a lot. The summer going into seventh grade, I got sick of baseball and tried golf. I loved it from the first minute I tried it. I went out for the high school team the next year, and my junior high team set the school record for low average ever. In my eighth grade season I did fairly well, and missed out on going to state individually by one shot at sectionals. Ninth grade year I made it to state individually, placing 3rd at sectionals, and tied for 30th at state. My 10th grade season I won the section individually by 4 shots, and tied for 23rd at state. I have put many many hours in practicing and playing ever since I started, and I continue to improve every year. I believe that I still have a lot of improving to do, and I will continue to work at it.
Academically, I am one of the top students in my class, and I have been taking advanced classes since 7th grade. I am not fully committed on what I want to study at college yet, but I'm leaning towards engineering, teaching, something in the golf industry, or business.
I am a very humble person, but at the same time I never underestimate what I believe I can accomplish. I will always work extremely hard to better myself, and will continue to learn throughout my life.
