Ever since I picked up the game of golf, it was a dream of mine to compete at the collegiate level. As I have progressed as both a student and an athlete, said dream has become much more realistic. I believe my journey in the classroom as well as on the course has molded me into an athlete who can make an impact on a competitive collegiate team.
In my current level of competition, I compete in the Nebraska Class A division of high school golf, which is the state’s largest division. In my freshman season, my only season thus far, I received a letter and participated in the Class A State Championship. This team gave me an entirely fresh perspective on golf competition, humbling me as a player as well as reinforcing the importance of dedication and self control. Although the competition is an important aspect of finding a school that fits my needs, I consider academics equally as valuable. I am looking for a university that not only fits my academic preferences, but an environment that will challenge me and aid me in growth as a student and as an athlete.
