2021 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Coaches, I have grown up with two other brothers and we all play travel hockey. I made my high school varsity team in my freshman year and have been on the varsity team for the past 3 years. Last year, I received the high school award for MVP Defenseman and this year, I was made assistant captain. I have been a leader to the other players on the team, when we sustained injuries and setbacks. I am currently on the U18 Highland Park Falcons Central States Team. I have been able to lead through adversity. I have kept a high morale and encouraged teammates to believe in themselves. Coaches tell me that I have a great ice presence and stick handling. In addition, I have participated in multiple fundraising events, including raising money for my previous club hockey teams, high school hockey team, participated in the Puck MS and Puck Cancer charities, participating in Sled Hockey GLASA, selling raffle tickets for charities and mentoring kids in learn to skate programs. I was just inducted into the National Honor Society. I also work a part-time job at Life Time Fitness.
