Jarrod Dye '23 Recruiting Profile

Not just as an athlete but as a person I am a hardworking and passionate individual. Whether it is school or sports,  I am a dedicated person who always is goal oriented and wants nothing more than to set the bar high and excel. I am a high level student in the top 25 kids of my class of over 400 currently taking all Honors and AP classes while in the STEAM Academy; and continues  to maintain high academic performance. Doing all of this while being an athlete, I am still able to compete to my highest capability in both areas due to my good time management skills, level headed approach, and hard-work mindset. When I am on the ice I am a grinding and physical,  yet skilled defenseman. I shine in situations when a big play or block is needed on the defensive side of the puck. I can also move the puck very well and have a great vision of the ice which helps me to contribute also on the offensive side of the puck. I also play with a very high hockey IQ, which allows me to play a strong, confident, and consistent game. Finally, I am a role model on and off the ice,  which is a main reason I have worn many letters on my Jerseys throughout the years including Assistant Captain for my current Highschool team in my junior season along with Assistant Captain for the Jersey Whalers Junior Elite. I have also been named Defenseman of the Year in 2021.
