My name is Sam Geida and I am in my junior year at Paul D Schreiber high school. I live in Port Washington New York, and Ive been playing club hockey for 3 years and school hockey for 4 years.
The minute I stepped on the ice, I completely fell in love with the sport. I started playing hockey as a defensemen, however my 2017-18 season I got moved up to left wing towards the end of the season when states and playoffs were rolling around. This resulted in being the second in scoring during the post season and in states for my club. However, I am currently bouncing back and forth between defense and forward. This gives me experience on both sides of the puck. In addition, I play a hard tough game, I'm not afraid to go into the corners or to the front of the net. Due to my play, during my 2017-18 season I was named assistant captain for my high school junior varsity team. We went on that year to compete in the conference championships and in states.
Although hockey is a big part of my life, I believe academics is even bigger. I work hard day in and day out to keep my grades up in school. I have been on the honor roll for 3 of the 4 quarters for my freshman and sophomore year.
Overall, I have been working very hard over these last 4 years to improve my game and I am ready to take my game to the next level.
