Personal Statement
I have always thought I would be playing soccer my whole life. That's until I entered 6th grade and was introduced to lacrosse. I liked it so much, I wanted to learn everything about it, I worked hard on getting better. By my 8th grade year, my coach pulled me up to play varsity. By my freshmen year, I was a starting defenseman and earned a First Team all county designation and Rookie of the Year. By my sophomore year, I travelled to Israel and played for the Peru National Team in the World Lacrosse Championship and was the youngest player in the entire games. I started all 7 games and helped the team earn their first world ranking.
I am committed to playing lacrosse in college, and to help grow the sport of lacrosse in Peru. I know I can balance my academics (which is my first priority) with lacrosse. I want to either get into a pre-dent or business program as I want to come home and help my dad in his dental practice.
I am a good leader on the field and my coaches have taught me how to communicate effectively with my teammates during play. My exposure to international play has made me a more mature player. It has also helped me develop a really good group of lacrosse friends all over the world.
