Through out my high school career I have been tasked with stepping up for my team. Whether is was mentally or just offensively. But none were harder than my sophomore year, when our leading scorer and captain tore his ACL early in the season, putting me at the top of totem pole. Being put in this captain of the offense role was tough, but it helped me grow as a person, and a player. I was able to learn from my mistakes, learn from others, and find out first hand what it takes to be a leader. A good leader needs to be aggressive and ambitious, but one also needs to be calm and collective. Both can diminish or add to your role as a leader and how others perceive you as a leader.
Lacrosse has done so much for me not only as a player, but a student, athlete, and person. It has given me more ambition in the classroom to better myself, more motivation to be in better shape, and has taught me how to interact with others. No matter what happens in my life, lacrosse will always be a constant in life. It's so much more than a sport, it's a passion.
