Josh Harmon '21 Recruiting Profile

From the time I was young, I have always loved the game of lacrosse. I strive to be the best that I can be on the lacrosse field and in the classroom while keeping in mind that it is not about me. I go through every day trying to live out the motto "God first, others second, me third." I am very strong in my faith and I live out the "God first" motto by giving God the glory in all that I do and always putting others before myself. On the lacrosse field, I put forth my best effort for God's glory and for my team. Leadership is very important to me, and humbling myself by putting others before me and giving my best effort allows me to be a good example for my teammates.

My academic goals are similar to my goals in sports; I put forth my best effort knowing that I left everything I could out on the field (and in school) and living out the "God first" motto. I strive to get the best grades possible, but I am content with my grade if I know that I put forth my best effort.

For me, winning is not everything. It is really about the process and what it took to get to the outcome I or my team received. I find the life lessons and the discipline learned from practicing a sport for hours upon hours more satisfying than the win. I would like to be in a situation where my coach will not only want to win but will be proactive in the lives of his players, grooming us into future husbands and fathers.
